Gopinathji

Gopinathji Temple is situated in a small village, Parasrampura, which is 20 km south-east of the town Nawalgarh. The temple was constructed in the year 1742 by Thakur Sardul Singh, a local chieftain. It holds the idol of Gopinath(Krishna) along with his consort Radha. The temple is adorned with fine paintings and murals. The peculiarity of these paintings is that the painter finished the paintings with his legs.
The paintings at the Chhatri of Thakur Sardul Singh was painted by the same artist, whose hands were cut off by Sardul Singh’s son, who wanted the work at the chhatri to be unique. But since the painter was so much devoted toLord Krishna, he completed the work with his legs. It is also said that the paintings in this temple are some of the best of Lord Krishna.
